Glaucoma is a group of conditions that damage the optic nerve, usually as a result of elevated pressure inside the eye. What makes it so dangerous is how quietly it progresses: most patients have no symptoms and no noticeable vision changes until meaningful, permanent damage has already occurred. By the time glaucoma is "felt," a significant amount of optic nerve function is often already lost — and unlike many other eye conditions, that lost vision cannot be restored.
The good news is that glaucoma is highly manageable when it's caught and treated properly. The goal of every treatment we offer is the same: lower eye pressure enough, and reliably enough, to stop further damage in its tracks and protect the vision you still have.
