Andrés Cortes MD - Glaucoma

Dr. Andres Cortes is a Colombian native with subspecialty training in the medical and surgical management of glaucoma. Dr Cortes is a graduate from Stanford University in California. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the prestigious Yale University in New Haven Connecticut and his ophthalmology residency degree from Stanford University in California. He then completed a fellowship in glaucoma at the Department of Ophthalmology of the University of California in San Francisco.

Dr. Cortes is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Cortes’s clinical interests include surgical treatments for glaucoma such as modern laser and filter surgery, tubes and advanced procedures of minimally invasive surgery such as Endocyclo-laser-photocoagulation (ECP), Glaukos trabecular micro bypass stent and ExPress shunt.

Dr. Cortes is fluent in Spanish and an active member of the South Florida community where he has provided compassionate and high quality services for nearly 20 years.
